FORWARD Dance Academy is grateful to be a part of the DANCE SAFE community. Until deemed safe by Ontario Health Officials, FORWARD Dance Academy will abide by the following measures to ensure the safety of our students and staff members:
We are asking that only our dancers enter the studio for the time being, as their safety is our first priority. Parents with a dancer 6 years of age or younger, will be permitted to walk their dancers inside the building (if need be). We will have a staff member to greet all of our dancers at the front door. Waiting spaces will be marked for them outside each studio, on which we ask that they wait until they are brought inside. We also ask that you are punctual for both pick-up and drop-off.
Staff and students will be screened on a daily basis with an FDA approved medical infrared thermometer. A FWD staff member will be responsible for screening each dancer upon welcoming them into the studio.
Each dancer will be required to wear facial protection upon arrival to the studio. Once inside, it is up to each individual and their family as to whether or not masks should be worn during their class(es). They will also be required to wear them when leaving the studio; either to visit the washroom, or for exiting the facility.
All staff and students are required to sanitize their hands upon entering the studio. There will be plenty of hand sanitizers throughout the facility. The studio will also be sanitized and cleaned regularly. The concept for now is to keep all students in their designated studio, and have the teachers rotate between classrooms. Each occupied studio will also have a designated bathroom, to aid in minimizing the flow of traffic throughout the facility.
We have marked the floors in each studio to ensure that each dancer can remain safely distanced from their peers. This will also help to serve as a reminder for them, as the return to dance will surely be very exciting.
Due to the physical distancing guidelines, we have temporarily closed the changerooms. Dancers will be required to bring their own bin with their required necessities (all required dance shoes, yoga blocks, stretching bands, ankle weights, etc).
We will be limiting the number of dancers in each studio and will offer a virtual option as well. Drop-ins will not be permitted, and your dancer’s participation in any class or workshop must be confirmed prior to attending.
At this time, our preferred method of payment would be via e transfer, however, all methods of payment are still acceptable. An appointment must be scheduled to come into the studio for any payments.
